Minority Mental Health Awareness Table

Stop by the library's Minority Mental Health Awareness Health Table July 7-11, 2025 in the library lobby as we celebrate National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health affects us all, and everyone deserves the inherent right to have access to mental health support, resources, and care.

We will be spreading awareness of the barriers of minority mental health and sharing mental health information resources for diverse communities in English, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Pashtu, Russian, Spanish.

Free Wellness Screening

Join nurses from Hackensack Meridian Health

Screenings will include:

  • Stroke Risk Assessment
  • Blood Pressure
  • Cholesterol*
  • Glucose
  • BMI
  • Pulse

 

*Fasting is not required.

Stuffed Animal Clinic

Brought to you by HIPHOP-CHI at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

 

Bring your cutest stuffed animals and give them a checkup, just like a real doctor!

 

Kids will learn from future doctors how to perform the doctor's exam, including taking their temperature, listening to the heart, and putting on a bandaid.

ALS Awareness Week Health Table

Stop by the library's ALS Awareness Table May 5-11 in the library lobby as we commemorate ALS Awareness Week. We are creating awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  This is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Roughly 1 in 400 people will develop ALS in their lifetime.
