ALS Awareness Week Table

Stop by the library's ALS Awareness Table May 8-15 in the library lobby as we celebrate ALS Awareness Week. We are creating awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  This is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Roughly 1 in 400 people will develop ALS in their lifetime.

Stop by and learn about ALS.  We will be sharing information about the latest research, treatments and resources for individuals, caregivers and families living with the disease.

We will be supplementing our table with a program on Wednesday, May 15 from 7-8 pm on Zoom with a presentation by Dr. Shan Chen, MD, PhD. Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Click here for more information and to register.

MAC Angels Foundation and ALS United Greater New York are the co-sponsors of the event.
